EARA, Specialists in re-use of household electrical items
Open College Training - We hope to offer training via the Open college network very soon. This will allow us to offer work based training to the long term unemployed and the disadvantaged. Our aim is to offer a personalised training program for every member of staff.

Manual Training - Through business partners we are able to offer a range of courses for our students and in conjunction with local companies that include Electrical(PAT) Testing, Forklift driving and Manual Handling.

Outreach Training - We are hoping to offer training programs as Evening classes or short courses . The aim with these courses is to help improve people’s knowledge of IT, green issues and Recycling.

Collection - We collect throughout Suffolk on regular basis. Unless we are filling a van we schedule your collection in when we are in your area. For instance if you are in Woodbridge we may collect your equipment when we are on our way back from Lowestoft and may have collected from Saxmundham and Leiston along the way. Collections are generally carried out within two weeks but at busier times this can be a little longer.

Re-use - As much equipment as is possible we get working again and get it back into the market. Our aim is to take your redundant equipment and then push this out to the area’s that require it. A good example of this would be taking a redundant washing machine in Bury St Edmunds and then passing it on to a low income family in Lowestoft.

Recycling - Everything that we can’t re-use we break down to component level. We will then take out all of the components that may be able to be re-used. Then finally the remaining parts that we can not re-use because they are redundant ot are not working are recycled. This helps us reach our target of a 0.01% landfill.
